Molly Teas

Molly Teas is Senior Advisor for Education at the U.S. Department of State where she is responsible for identifying opportunities to support Secretary Clinton’s focus on “smart power” in South and Central Asia, promoting existing educational programs in the region and seeking opportunities for additional educational and cultural partnerships and exchanges.

Prior to the State Department Molly was Education Director at the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a Government Agency. Her work involved education project design and management including improving the skills of artisans in Morocco through mobile education centers, increasing school enrollment among girls in the poorest reaches of northern Namibia through the construction of new schools and libraries and improving national vocational educational systems in Mongolia and El Salvador through new school construction.
In her distinguished career, Molly also held the position of Executive Director of Capacity Building in Science Program at the International Council for Science, Director of Education for Nature World Wildlife Fund Nonprofit, Education Specialist The World Bank and as Director of the College Year in Nepal Program of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Molly served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghandrung, Nepal from 1979-1982 teaching Math and Science. Dr. Teas is a graduate of Lawrence University. She received her master's degree in South Asian studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a doctorate in education from Harvard University.
